Little Bit About Me

This is me

My name is Sophie Yujie Zhu. I am a new graduate from Telfer School of Management, specialising in Human Resource Management and Marketing.

I was born and raised in China. I moved across the world to "the home of Anne of Green Gables" - Prince Edward Island with my family when I was 15 years old. Then, I moved to the capital of Canada and became a member of this fascinating city of Ottawa.

I am a Gemini.

Half of me is a rigorous introvert. I believe success comes from optimistic attitude, strategic planning, comprehensive preparation, measurable performance, strict standards and continuous self-motivation.

The other half of me is a vigorous artist. Music and travelling has been a huge part of my life. I believe there is no limits for human intelligence, thus, imagination and creativity could make every dream to reality.

In marketing, I define myself as an analytical marketer who does not only care about the efficiency and profit but also be able to carry the responsibility to demonstrate and maintain an outstanding reputation for the company. My passion is digital campaign & advertisement design and marketing, especially in the music and fashion industry.

In Human Resource Management, I define myself as a motivational HR specialist who is able to increase employee engagement and productivity through not only strategic workforce planning and training & evaluation development, but also a optimistic attitude and inspiring  encouragements. My professional interests are compensation, occupational health & safety and international training & cross-cultural management.

Mission Statement:  To create interesting and useful content to represent the best of me. To pass optimism around and encourage everyone to be the best of themselves.

Core Value: Optimistic attitude and inspiring lifestyle

Logo design: the red heart icon represents our strong vitality, the three red dots represents non-stop heart beats. With the tagline “The Heart of Life”, it shows that doesn’t matter how hard life gets, the disasters and challenges will always be temporary. The heart beats never stop and we will push it through together eventually. I hope I can pass on the message and keep everyone motivated.

The idea of "The heart of Life" was inspired by the homonymic song from one of my favourite artist John Mayer.
